The business for my new company is a makeup store. The new makeup store, which be located in the downtown complex of Andover, Ma, is called "Pure Beauty". This is similar to a Sephora type store, but this new makeup store is much cheaper and affordable for the average person! The makeup sold at "Pure Beauty" is high quality made more affordable for women who can't afford going to Sephora every time that makeup is needed.

Product: High end makeup from brands: Two-Faced, Naked, Urban Decay, etc.
Price: Ranges from $20-40 dollars, a lot cheaper than Sephora
Promotion: 50% off first purchase, send daily coupons through email or mail with signup
Place: Located in downtown complex in Andover, Ma

Sephora is a competitor with "Pure Beauty". They sell the same brands of makeup, but for much more money. Sephora sells great quality makeup, but not every person can afford it. The marketing mix is applied to Sephora similarly to "Pure Beauty".

Product: High end makeup from brands: Two-Faced, Naked, Urban Decay, etc.
Price: Ranges from $30 to $50-100 dollars, a lot more expensive than "Pure Beauty"
Promotion: each time a product is bought, you gain Sephora points towards a free gift

Boston Turned Down: Good or Bad?

I am happy Boston got turned down for the Olympics. Boston is a great city, but it is not big enough for an event as big as the Olympics. Although Boston would gain money for hosting the Olympics, we would lose a lot more than gained. How would we be able to provide living for all these people? Many new buildings would have to be made in places that Boston does not have room for to host the Olympians, judges and hosts, TV broadcasters, families of athletes, and just overall tourists and fans. Making all those buildings and getting rid of them would be a problem that isn't easy to fix. Another reason that I am happy Boston got turned down is that the traffic would be 1000x worse than it already is. I live 20 minutes away from Boston, and I am not willing to wait 3 hours to get there just because of the Olympics. Overall, we would lose a lot of money in the long run than we would be earning, and we made the right decision.
